Two Easy Letters That Will Change Your Life
TAKE CARE OF YOU. I bet you can think of a child you love more than life itself. I sure can. Even before I had my own kids, my nieces and nephews consumed my heart. I totally get how moms can muster up superhuman strength to save a child. Pick a car up off a kid? No sweat. I get it. Sometimes I think my super power is being a mom. I come from a long line of amazing women.
So, when I chose my husband, why could I not muster the strength… The self esteem, if you will, to take care of myself? Didn’t I deserve the same super hero powers that I’d bestowed on my favorite kids? Apparently, I never realized that when growing up. Thank goodness for Al-Anon. Someone there suggested – insisted even – that I do this exercise. I’ve talked about it before, but I hope you’ll do it for yourself today.
A little background: I got married young, and as it turns out my husband was wanted for drug-related charges, and had a whole secret life I didn’t know about. When confronted, he admitted he was drawn to me because I was gullible. A lot has changed since then. I’m remarried and have a whole different life now, thank goodness. I believe a lot of women have this problem of low self esteem. And I believe this might change your life. It’s what changed mine.
